My Approach to Therapy

I approach the therapeutic process holistically, looking at how to balance and integrate all aspects of the mind, body, and spirit.

My ways of working are both exploratory and solution-focused, with the goal of helping you move into the life that you envision.

Together we can create a safe space to explore your concerns with caring, compassion, and curiosity.

Through the therapeutic process, we can help you discover parts of yourself that may have been buried, or that you have been unaware of, and develop acceptance and appreciation for all of who you are.

In getting to know your whole self, including the sad, angry, frightened, and hidden parts, a more satisfying life can emerge.

My style is warm, respectful, and down-to-earth. I tailor my treatment approaches to the issues that people are working with and use the methods that might be most effective for each person.

I find great fulfillment in collaborating with people as they fully utilize their strengths and begin to experience what they might not before have thought possible.

Some of the modalities that I use include mindfulness-based, motivational, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, narrative, and psychodynamic therapies. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which can be helpful in recovering from trauma.

I have had the privilege of serving people reflecting a broad diversity including culture, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, and age.

As a therapist, I am dedicated to supporting you in coming more fully into who you would like to be in the world and to developing more meaningful and satisfying ways of participating in life.
